After a long hot Summer, we have restarted to the stocking programme at Darlow Water – 200 2-3 lb rainbow trout (some even bigger!) from Bibury fish farm have been released today!
We’re now planning to stock on a regular basis with more rainbows, browns and Sparctics, so this should provide some great fishing over the Winter and in to next year. We are aiming to stock at least 800 fish before the end of 2022, and then more in early 2023 through to April.
Water conditions are now cool enough, so the fish should acclimatise fairly quickly after the stress of transport. And all water chemistry parameters look good, which is a huge relief after the last couple of seasons!
Also, all normal rules have been reinstated, so catch and released has returned – please take good care of the fish! Barbless hooks only.
