Darlow Water will be temporarily closed to fishing for 3 days, 16-18th November, to allow the annual chalking to take place. Access to the lake grounds will be very restricted during this time.
This important process is carried out each year to help reduce the build up of organic silt that naturally builds up in still water. The build up of anaerobic areas of silt has a detrimental effect on the fish and other creatures, and gradually leads to the reduction in lake volume.
